U-Sain? or Have You Bolted Out Ya Dag On Mind?

Okay, so I'm a huge track and field fan. This is partly because I get this rush out of seeing people run so hard that it makes me ignore the fact that I'm in front of the TV eating chicken and french fries. Seriously, I feel like i'm being excercised too! I start to sweat and my heart rate starts pumpin from the excitement. Heck, I admit that I even jump up and down a few times and box the couch in the aftermath. Lol.

Now, imagine how I feel when Usain gets on the field. I'm not a fan, but simply an observer enjoying the effortless workout. I get excited to see the reaction on the opposing runners' face, knowing that they were no where near his ZIP CODE. Then, spectators and announcers kill my rush. They worship this man like he's God in the flesh. They take being a fan to a whole 'notha level. While I applaud his power, skill, and 5 world records in this year alone, I am disgusted at how much people praise him.

Call me a hater if you want, but I've never been a fan of RODEO SHOWS. For example, Beyonce- she's talented, but overrated. Tim Tebow- he's talented, but overrated. Usain- he's talented but overrated. I agree that they deserve to be acknowledged for what they do. But what about the people who truly deserve a night on MTV, BET, CNN? Why can't they get a free trip on Oprah's yacht. Hell, why can't they bathe Oprah's dog?

Quite frankly, Beyonce's voice has never sang food on Africans' plate nor has her lace front covered the bald heads of cancer patients. Tim Tebow didn't use that good arm of his to throw bombs in the war to protect American people. Usain's legs have never kicked a bill passed Capitol Hill that would assist failing schools.

Let's shout out Nikki Giovanni! Let's give Dr. Michael Eric Dyson a full hour on CNN. Put Tyler Perry in a Wheaties commercial. Give the advocates for the retired veterans an island away from the B.S. we put them through. Let our soldiers host an awards show. Man, let our soldiers have a reality show.

They don't get the credit they deserve. But our celebrities get global acclaim and some change.

**My apologies...NO ONE deserves to be on B.E.T. NO ONE.

What is Wrong With Us...seriously

Today, I was browsing Ebay, and I wanted to know how much a coach purse would cost. I noticed how one purse was $210 and the same one was $41 by another seller. Knowing me, I knew I wasn't going to spend that much money on a purse. So, I searched for handbags....know what I found? An ugly *expletive* purse for $2,000!!!

It's Chanel but Chanel does not have enough weight over here to be selling for an arm and a leg. $2,000 is an INSURANCE PREMIUM, PHONE BILLS for a couple of years, PARTIAL TUITION PAYMENT, PAYMENT ON A CAR, A HOUSE FULL OF GROCERIES.....I can go on and on. I just don't know why people would spend money on frivolous things like this (especially if you're not banking atleast a couple Mil- annually). Just a thought though.

Long Day of Nothing

Today, I did absolutely nothing. I've been promising myself that I would work out and I have not for the past week. I dedicate so much time to television and internet. If it's not one of the two, it's gotta be my ipod. I feel a change coming on.

Individuality

We must understand that we are all human, or individual lives within one world. Individuality is natural evidence of difference in existence; we all have different likes, dislikes, motivations, and other elements that fall in between. In our singularity, however, we must acknowledge that we live in ONE world full of individuals whose very existence affects our own. Therefore, as individuals, we must face differences with committed curiosity for a healthy life experience. In this curiosity, we must summon our understanding, remembering that understanding is the incorporation of differences in the building of a fair foundation.

In a world of "SOMEONE ELSE's" we can easily lose ourselves in the image of the influential. (This image is called the FACADE OF REALITY). When the duplicate fulfillment of an individual's image occurs, we leave our own vessels emptied to be driven by a "SOMEONE ELSE". We drain ourselves of what we have accumulated through discussions with the individuals in our world. We uproot ourselves from the soil that gave us life and replace our natural sun with a temporary spotlight that cannot sustain us.

Our vessels, however, can be re-attained and our crops can be replenished by the exhibition of curiosity of other individuals and ourselves. We must also remember that curiosity is not only the demand to understand, but also the invitation to be understood. Questions are the answers to ourselves. Answers are the questions to others. The questions that go unanswered are the answers that go unquestioned. Hearing the unquestioned to better understand the process of asking is key. This can be applied to relationship differences with a significant other, family member, friend, or stranger.

In Relationships
When individuality meets reality, rationale amidst moral dictation ceases. Especially
when we realize that untested rationale does not exist. For, the untested lacks the roots and the foundation needed to grow.
Frustration builds on the residue of yesterday’s conflict.
Residue dissolves to give place to glop (for a better word).

CLEAN WHAT YOU GOT...FROM THE INSIDE OUT.

Truth

Looking at his face is complicated.
It takes mind power and fights will.
There’s nothing he can do because he did nothing.
There’s nothing I can do because I did too much.

Looking at his face is complicated.
It takes my power and fights will ensue.
There’s nothing he can do if he does nothing to restore what is done.
There’s nothing I can do if I do too much to restore what is not.

The righteous is wrong.
